Past Chair, Lyndsay Kruger
Staff Accountant, Mowbrey Gil LLP
Lyndsay is a Wish Sibling, so being a part of YPAC and making another kid’s dream come true means everything to her. Lyndsay’s sister talked about her wish up until she passed away. Knowing that she can make a difference and give someone else their day of pure joy is the most fulfilling thing she has ever done.
Past Chair, Taryn Klymyk
Manager, Mowbrey Gil LLP
YPAC has given Taryn the opportunity to have a positive impact on her community and see firsthand how her efforts are making a difference, by granting wishes.
Working with a group of people from diverse professional backgrounds who all share enthusiasm and passion for Make-A-Wish has helped Taryn enhance her teamwork skills. As Chair this year, Taryn is leading YPAC strategically to ensure we are successful in raising enough funds to grant a wish and raising awareness for Make-A-Wish.
Chair, Colin Labonte
Digital Media and Web Specialist, Strathcona County
Colin first heard about Make-A-Wish through a co-worker, and was inspired by the stories and experiences she shared about the kids she was helping. After hearing about the amazing and positive impact a granted wish can have on a family, he decided to join YPAC and help in any way he can.
Vice Chair, Ian Stephenson
Business Development Officer – Athabasca University
Ian started volunteering with Make-A-Wish after seeing the impact first hand, when a family member was granted a wish. This experience only strengthened his desire to give back after seeing all the fantastic volunteers and events in action.
Getting more involved with YPAC seemed like a natural fit, with the chance to leverage his professional skills and network and see those results right here in Northern Alberta.
Marketing Manager, Scott Elkow
Advisor, Sun Life Financial
Joining YPAC helps Scott to fulfill his passion to give back to the community and create amazing experiences for those in need of a little cheer.
In business, as in his personal life, Scott likes to surround himself with positive, generous, friendly, and warm hearted individuals. YPAC, as well as the programs they help, are stacked with these strong individuals and Scott couldn’t be ore proud to be working with them.
Member at Large, Ashley Carlson
Director, Operations Performance, Covenant Health
As a mother of two young children, Ashley’s heart aches at the thought of them falling ill and because of this, she wanted to help families that may be going through such a difficult time. Through the work of YPAC and Make-a-Wish, Ashley hopes to bring some comfort to children and their families during what may be one of their most trying times.
Being a member of YPAC has also provided her with the opportunity to network with new colleagues, sharing experiences and skills related to fundraising, event planning and project management, and much more.
Member at Large, Cathy Wheeler
Client Manager, Mowbrey Gil LLP
Cathy first joined YPAC because it was a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community and be involved with an amazing organization. She also found that working with other likeminded young professionals was a great way to expand her network. Finally, and most importantly, she was drawn to the work that Make-A-Wish does, and is grateful to be given the opportunity to see firsthand how the organization positively impacts families in the community.
Member at Large, Lara Simonar
Project & Administration Officer, Western Economic Diversification Canada
Lara joined YPAC with the hopes of working together with local young professionals to make a positive impact on the lives of children with critical illnesses. As a cousin to a former wish kid, Lara knows first hand the difference a wish can make not only to the wish kid, but also to their friends and family. Lara is excited to be a part of the Northern Alberta YPAC team and raise awareness in our community.
